By following these steps, the CD ROM of your windows machine will not be accessible any more (actually not visible). The reasons you may need to disable/enable the CD ROM vary according to your needs (i.e. you don’t want to allow the users of your company to install or run applications via CD/DVD-ROM). Below you will find the steps you have to follow in order to Disable or Enable the CD/DVD-ROM. You may follow one of the two methods described below: 1st Method 2nd Method 1 Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories, then right click on Command Prompt and select “Run as administrator” 2 In the Command Prompt write the following command and press enter: To Enable CD/DVD-Rom: reg add HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\cdrom /t REG_DWORD /v "Start" /d 1 /f To Disable CD/DVD-Rom: reg add HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\cdrom /t REG_DWORD /v "Start" /d 4 /f 3 Restart your PC and check if the CD/DVD-ROM is enabled/disabled accordingly. 1 Click Start, and then click Run. 2 In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK. 3 Locate, and then click the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\cdrom 4 In the right pane, double-click Start. Here is how you can install additional or missing input languages on your device (Note: To follow this procedure, you must have a PC running Windows as the Operating System): 1 First of all you need to download and install the Blackberry Desktop Software which can be found in the following link (Current version v7.1.0): http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop/desktop-pc.html 2 Then you have to download and install the Blackberry Device Software which can be found in the following link (This is required because if you skip it you won’t be able to install any input languate): http://us.blackberry.com/support/apps-and-software/desktop-and-device-download-sites.html In this webpage you have to find your provider and download the appropriate application based on your device’s model number (i.e. Blackberry Curve 9300 smartphone).
